A suspect who had been identified to be a member of an extremist fundamentalist organization was indicted before Galle High Court Judge W.P.Nissanka for allegedly aiding and abetting extremist activities by concealing information about a training workshop conducted by Saharan, who led the Easter attack.
Accordingly the indictment was served on Abdul Cader Mohamed Sasni (33), a resident of Milidduwa, Galle.
The respondent was charged under Prevention of Terrorism Act for encouraging and promoting extremist or fundamentalist religious ideologies and there by creating malicious or hostile feelings among religious groups, providing weapon training, executing activities which would lead racial animosities among religious groups, encouraging such activities , conspiring and failure to inform the police about the training workshop conducted by the deceased Mohamed Qasim Mohamed Zaharan alias Saharan alias Abu Ubaida alias at Aruppala in Kandy after having attended the same.
Following the handing over of the indictment, the High Court Judge remanded the accused until April 5.
