Naval troops along with Uppukulam Police nabbed a suspect along with 1,418 kg of unauthorised fishing nets from a house in Mannar on March 27.
The SLNS Gajaba in the North Central Naval Command along with Mannar Police carried out the operation.
These fishing nets may have been hidden to be sold for illegal fishing, Naval sources said.
The suspect is a 25-year-old resident of Irukkulampiddi, Mannar. He together with fishing nets was handed over to Mannar Police.
