Police Special Task Force (STF) Organized Crimes Prevention Unit officers on a tip-off arrested a suspect along with 6,000 sticks of cigarettes illegally imported to the country at Periyamulla in Negombo on Friday. He had been arrested while transporting these contraband, police said.
The suspect is a 56-year-old resident of Kochchikade. The STF handed over the suspect to the Negombo Police.
