The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Muslim Service Division had organized All Island Poetry and Short Story Competition Awards Ceremony to mark the International Women’s Day was held at the Ananda Samarakoon Studio on Sunday (19) under the patronage of SLBC Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe.
Students of the Muslim Ladies College presented welcome dance and Head of the Muslim Service Rinoziya Jaufer delivered the welcome address.
Former Minister Ferial Ashroff, SLBC Tamil Service Advisor and Tower Hall Foundation Member of the Board of Directors Hassim Omar, Former Appeal Court Judge M.M.A. Ghafoor, Kollupitiya Jumma Mosque Trustee Muslim Salahudeen, J.J. Foundation Chairman I.Y.M. Haniff and Afzal Marikkar were presented awards and certificates to the winners of the completion.
Ferial Ashroff and SLBC Deputy Director-General Programme Mayuri Abeysinghe was honored with golden shall at this event.
Also Tower Hall Foundation Member of the Board of Directors Hassim Omar presented the book of “History of Achieving Muslims in India” to the Hudson Samarasinghe.
SLBC Staff, Artists and Media personnel’s were graced the ceremony.
