The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued a gazette notification declaring the maximum retail price for eggs with effect from Friday (19).
Accordingly, a white egg should be sold at Rs. 43 while a brown egg should be sold at Rs. 45.
The CAA orders that no supplier, manufacturer, producer, distributor or trader shall sell, supply, expose or offer for sale, or display for sale the eggs exceeding the maximum retail prices.
