Four suspects, including two women, were arrested by the Police Special Task Force along with heroin worth over two lakhs and a pistol for aiding and abetting a murder.

According to the information received by the officers of the Special Task Force Gonahena camp, on the instructions of commandant STF DIG ,Layer Mr. Waruna Jayasundara , Under the supervision of SSP Mr. Senadheera,and under the guidence of Assistant Superintendent of Police H.M. Mr. Keerthi Wijesinghe, Gonahena Camp Commanding Officer Chief Inspector of Police M.M.N.K. marasinghe and a group of officers arrested a two men and two women for aiding and abetting murder.
They have been arrested for the offense of aiding and abetting the murder committed near Kelaniya Pattiya Junction Gurukula Vidyalaya on 14.09.2022. These two men are 37 and 34 years old from Wellampitiya and Modara Uyana, Colombo 15, and women. They are 35 and 46 years old from Modara Uyana Colombo 15 area.
At the time of the arrest of these suspects, they had 21 mg of heroin with a value of over two lakhs. 121, a foreign made NORINCO type pistol used for crimes and an ammunition bag used for it, 04 live bullets of 09 mm type, 03 mobile phones and a three-wheeler along with a three-wheeler were arrested at Ferguson Road, Colombo 15 and Wellampitiya and further investigations are underway. It has been handed over to the Phaliyagoda Police Station for processing.
