Zahira College Colombo Islamic Society had organized awards ceremony for the Inter School Islamic Day Competition year 2020 and Meelad un Nabi Celebration 2022 held at the College Abdul Gaffoor Hall recently. It was held under the patronage of Principal of the College Trizviiy Marikkar. President of the Islamic Society Thaariq Khalid delivered the welcome address.
Over 60 schools took part in the Islamic Day Completion in various subjects such as Quirath, Qaseedha, Essay, Speech, Quiz and Calligraphy. Muslim Ladies College Colombo were crowned as the Overall Champions of the event and received the champion shield from chief guest Director of Muslim Schools, Ministry of Education Major Gafoor Najimudeen and the guest speaker Director of Faize Raza and Rizviya Arabic College Mufthi Al Alim Musthafa Raza. Also Inter House Meelad un Nabi competition Angora House became the overall champion and the Captain of the House Mohamed Shihab received the champion shield from the chief guest.
Board of Governors Chairman Fouzul Hameed, Secretary Alavi Mukthar, Deputy Principal Razeen Assan, Vice Principals Ash Sheik M.M. Mihilar, Mrs. Hijazy Mohideen and Zeenath Ismail, Sectional Heads, Islamic Society Master in Charge M.I.M. Inham, Religious Affairs Coordinator Ash Sheik Abdul Haleem, Members of the Board of Governors, Old Boys, Students, Parents, Invitee Schools Teachers and Students were also present.
