We are on week 2 of the “Yala Jeep Drivers Training Programme”, covering another 100 participants in 2 batches.
The WNPS is humbled and elated by the enthusiasm shown by the jeep drivers, which showcases their genuine interest in the well-being of the park, the experience they give the guests, and their livelihood.
This is a project initiated and organised by the Wildlife & Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka (WNPS), in collaboration with the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC), and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
Your support towards protecting this gem of a National Park is needed, in our commitment to bring back Yala to its previous glory. Through this interactive programme, we have also identified that travel agents, guides, photographers, and local and foreign guests play an equally important role in protecting this world-renowned National Park.
We hope to reinvent the story of Yala and help the kids and cubs of tomorrow experience its true legacy!
