RUZAIK FAROOK
The Old Girls’ Association of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya, Maradana, Colombo organized its Netball Tournament among the old girls for the seventh consecutive year at the school premises recently. Players from four houses – Meththa, Karuna, Muditha and Upekkha participated. It was held under the patronage of Principal of the Ananda Balika Vidyalaya Mrs. W.B.G. Kumudini.
Muditha House defeated Karuna House in the final to become champion for the seventh consecutive year.
Colombo Municipal Council Sports Department Supervising Sports Officer Champa Alwis was present as chief guest and distributed awards to the winners.
Captain of the champion house Manjula De Silva and captain of the runner-up house Geethika Priyadarshani received the awards from Principal Mrs. W.B.G. Kumudini.
Reshmi Kavindi Nanayakkara of Muditha House was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament and the Best Shooter award went to Muditha House Dilupa Thushari.
OGA Vice Presidents Manjula de Silva and Shiromi Wijerathne, Secretary Wickremasinghe were present at the awards ceremony.
Project Chairperson Inoka Gallage, Event Coordinators Anuja De Silva, Dilani Senarathne, Dilshani Perera, Dishmini ILukgoda, Asani Wijesooriya and members were also present.
