The Deputy General Manager (Legal) of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau said that steps will be taken to do justice to the people who were caught in the foreign employment scams carried out by the Maharagama RV Manpower Institute. says.
The people caught in this scam protested in front of the bureau today (4/26), and a group of protesters were given the opportunity to come inside the bureau and present their complaint.
Accordingly, they submitted their complaint to the Deputy General Manager in charge of the Bureau’s Special Investigation Division. Addressing the protestors, the Deputy General Manager stated that the bureau has received 263 complaints against this institution so far. The Deputy General Manager further stated that the Bureau has previously arrested the owner of this institution and he has been banned from traveling abroad by the Virudhadwa Court. Also, Mrs. Samarasekera told the protesters that the relevant employment agency has been banned by the Bureau on September 26, 2023, and said that she will file further complaints and file a case before the court immediately to do justice to the victims in the best possible way.
Satisfied with this, the protestors thanked the Deputy General Manager and ended their protest.
If there are other people caught in this foreign employment scam, the Bureau requests the public to come and submit their complaint to the Bureau’s Special Investigation Division.
