A person who defrauded more than 50 lakh rupees by saying that he would provide jobs in factories in the state of Dubai has been arrested in Ruwanwella area on 28.08.2024.
Running an illegal foreign employment agency called “Aradhana” in Ruwanwella town, the suspect received money from both men and women to provide foreign jobs in Dubai, and the Special Investigation Unit of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau had received more than 15 complaints against him.
Previously, this foreign employment agency had been running in Minuwangoda area, and after its frauds were discovered, the officers of the bureau’s investigation department arrested the owner of the relevant agency named Nayanta Buddhika Bandaranaike and brought him to the Minuwangoda court.
After that, facts have been revealed to the investigation department that he has defrauded money by running this illegal institution in different parts of the island. Complaints have also been received against the suspect at the police stations of Pelmadulla and Ruwanwella.
After presenting the arrested suspect to the Ruwanwella Magistrate’s Court, the Magistrate ordered that he be remanded in custody until September 10.
