According to reports obtained by the Consumer Affairs Authority after testing samples of skin creams and lotions collected from the market, the levels of heavy metals found in some products have been confirmed to be significantly higher than the approved limits.
The brand names of the tested creams and lotions, along with the detected heavy metal content, are listed below.
A copy of the gazette notification specifying the approved heavy metal limits is also provided.
Accordingly, the Consumer Affairs Authority urges all consumers to refrain from purchasing creams and lotions that exceed the approved safety limits. Legal action has already been taken against vendors selling such products, and the law will be strictly enforced against any future violators.
