
Colombo, Sri Lanka – Distinguished South Indian film personalities Radhika Sarathkumar and R. Sarathkumar arrived in Sri Lanka this morning aboard SriLankan Airlines flight UL 122 to attend the holy requiem mass in honour of the late Mrs. Geetha Radha (also known as Seetha Radha) — beloved mother of Ms. Radhika Sarathkumar and grandmother of actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
The late Mrs. Geetha Radha was the wife of legendary South Indian actor M. R. Radha, one of the most influential figures in Tamil cinema.
The couple, accompanied by members of their family, were warmly received upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport by senior officials of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the *Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also present to welcome them was **Mr. Udith Lokubandara, **Chairman of RT International Group (Pvt) Ltd, and *former Member of Parliament and Foreign Relations Coordinator of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). RT Events, the event management arm of RT International Group, is coordinating the couple’s visit to the island during this time of bereavement.
About the Personalities
Radhika Sarathkumar is a veteran actress, producer, and politician in South Indian cinema, with an acclaimed career spanning over four decades in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. She is also the founder of *Radaan Mediaworks, one of India’s leading television production companies. In recent years, she has been active in public life, serving as *Vice President of the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) and later joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2024.
*R. Sarathkumar, her husband, is a respected actor, producer, and politician. He founded the *AISMK in 2007, which later merged with the BJP in March 2024. Both are highly regarded for their contributions to cinema and their involvement in social and political initiatives in Tamil Nadu.
Memorial Service
The holy requiem mass for the late Mrs. Geetha Radha** will be held on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at 11.30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, Kollupitiya, Colombo. The service will be attended by family members, close friends, and dignitaries who will join in prayer to honour and remember her life.
