The Chinese ambassador says Sri Lanka continues to receive China's cooperation.

china's Ambassador Xi Chonghong says that China's continuous support to Sri Lanka will be launched at the launch of the "Friendship with Affection" social welfare project.

On the occasion of the 73rd Chinese National Day celebration, under the “Friendship with Affection” social welfare project organized by the Sri Lanka China Social and Cultural Cooperation Association, items such as wheelchairs, crutches, blood pressure monitors, first aid kits, household appliances, and food items are donated across the country. The inaugural event (27) of providing food items to low-income families was held at the Malambe Regional Secretariat.

Mr. Xi Chonghong, the Chinese ambassador to Sri Lanka, who participated as the chief guest of this event, further said that China will provide all possible support in the face of the economic crisis that Sri Lanka is facing. He also stated that since China is a member of the International Monetary Fund, Sri Lanka will be given maximum support. He further said that China is constantly working to provide humanitarian aid for the Sri Lankan people.

Wheelchairs, crutches, blood pressure monitors, first aid kits and household appliances were also donated to the urban children and elderly home in Wickramasinghapura, Thalawathugoda, and the Chinese ambassador also joined the occasion.

These donations are sponsored by the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development.

The Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries support this community hospitality program. On this occasion, Malambe District Secretary, Sri Lanka China Social and Cultural Cooperation Association President Indrananda Abeysekara, National Organizer Nandasena Madavanarachi, Deputy President Rasanga Harishchandra and others were present.
