The officers attached to Revenue Task Force of Sri Lanka Customs was able to seize 420,000 sticks of Manchester brand Cigarettes Illegally imported in to the country carefully concealed inside 20 barrels declared as Hydrated Lime during a special investigation carried out at warehouse located at the Colombo port premises.
The subject 20 plastic barrels said to contain Hydrated Lime were imported to a company in Kaluthara area from the United Arab Emirates.
The contraband is valued approximately Rs. 31,500,000/-
Further investigations are being carried out under directive by Director of Cusyoms ( RTF) Mr. Thilak Suraweera and on the supervision of the Director General of Customs
