The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) 48th sessions willbegin tomorrow with an oral update by High Commissioner MicheleBachelet on Sri Lanka, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
The sessions will end on October 6 and will be held virtually,through remote access, and with limited physical presence at theCouncil Chambers in Geneva.
The sessions will begin at 10 am tomorrow with an oral update by HighCommissioner Bachelet, under ITEM 2.
In February, the UNHRC adopted a resolution over alleged violationsof human rights and international humanitarian laws in Sri Lanka.
Ahead of the sessions, the Government circulated among all countries a14-page document titled “Progress made by the Government of Sri Lankaon human rights and reconciliation.
