State Minister for Prison Management and Prisoner Rehabilitation Lohan Ratwatte has resigned from his post over his alleged involvement in recent incidents at Anuradhapura and Welikada prisons.
Ratwatte had sent his resignation to the President today and the President’s media division said the President had accepted the resignation of the state minister.
Ratwatte had allegedly gone to the Anuradhapura prison and Welikada prison recently and had behaved in an unruly manner.
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) alleged that at the Anuradhapura prison ratwatte had threatened several Tamil prisoners.
