Police Special Task Force (STF) officers have arrested a key follower of ‘Kudu Roshan’, a prominent drug gang leader and drug trafficker, who distributes narcotics in the Kaduwela area.
The suspect was arrested in a raid carried out in front of a Hotel in Ihala Bomiriya, Kaduwela in the Navagamuwa Police Division, according to information received by the STF Organized Crime Unit-1.At the time of the arrest, the suspect was in possession of 64 grams of ice and other narcotics. A senior member of the force said that more than 100,000 rupees earned from the racket was also seized by the officers. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect, a 35-year-old resident of Siyambalape, was a key follower of ‘Kudu Roshan’, a drug lord who runs a major drug network in the Kaduwela area.
The arrested suspect has been handed over to the Navagamuwa Police for further investigations.
