The 3rd Edition of the Popular Double Wicket Cricket Tournament organized by Lanka Heritage CC was launched on 6th May at Tamil Union Premises at a well attended Press conference.
The tournament draw was also held at the same premises with 24 teams participating. Over 100 Past Cricketers are expected to come together at the Moors Grounds on 16th and 17th May 2026 in what promises to be a cricketing fiesta.
Dushan Soza the former Josephian and Sri Lanka U 19 skipper who is the President of Lanka Heritage CC said that this is an annual tournament and this year there is a large participation and everyone was looking forward to it. He further said that club aspires to make it an international tournament with foreign participation next year and there for getting the process in order was very vital.
We have left no stone unturned in the organizing of this tournament said Basil Perera the Former Benedictine skipper who is the Tournament Chair.
Roy Dias and Anura Tennakone will be the Chief Guests at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies respectively. The entrance is free for the public.
